The Complete Wedding Purse Set

I had a bride-to-be who loves polka-dots and she asked if I was able to include it in her wedding purse designs.  But, of course! I do always try my best to work towards getting what people want, especially for their big day. I had all the inner linings of her clutch purse orders in polka-dots.  We had great discussion on the colors combinations. What goes with whose dress, will this match that… It is no wonder as she is a graphic designer and definitely have an eye for the artistic.  And she ended up ordering what I call ‘the complete set’ for her wedding.  What does the ‘complete set’ comprises of? Well, here’s the list:

Tri-Color Wedding Clutch Set

Its been a little hectic around with the June Wedding season almost here. And I was pleasantly surprised to have my first local sale of custom wedding clutch purses. The bride-to-be is based in US but her wedding will be held here on sunny Singapore shores.  She requested for 2 sets of purses. And my guess would be , one for her ‘sisters’ party and another is for her bridesmaids.

‘Sisters’ for weddings in Chinese culture typically consist of a group of close friends of the bride who will be around to help out to with reception, logistics, miscellaneous errands and of cause carrying out the most anticipated and eventful **Chinese Wedding Door Game. I will eloborate at the end of this post.

Bridesmaids on the other hand are usually the bride’s real sister or best friend who takes care of the bride’s needs and stays beside the bride.

And thus explains the 2 sets of different colored clutch purse for this custom request. Its been fun making these purses for the bride, her sisters and bridesmaids. And I hope they’ll love it too. Congratulations and here’s wishing you a blissful marriage!

**Chinese Wedding Door Game originated from ancient time which implies that the bride is a lovely girl and her family and friends do not want to marry her away.  The groom will be blocked at the bride’s door, and her friends will try to stop him from entering by asking questions about the bride, a way to test if he really cares about her.  They may also do other tricks to delay the bride’s leaving.  The groom will try to buy his way in by presenting token money wrapped in red envelops. The entire “bargain” process is joyous and good-natured.

White Wedding Bloom

This beautiful white flower bloom was made quite sometime ago. I just forgot to post it up till now. =p  It was done for my friend’s wedding gown together with her Peaches ‘N’ Cream themed Clutch Purses.  Her gown was largely done up with lot of loving and careful attention to details by family and friends. People who helped adjusted every hem and sew every bling and shimmer onto it. I had the priviledge of adding a the center of attention to it, the flower bloom. It is entirely handmade. Each and every pearl big or small were hand-sewn one at a time. And I’m so extremely glad it worked out well in the end. =) Check out how it looks when attached to the wedding gown:

Peaches ‘N’ Cream

Its such a nice thing when 2 of your friends are getting married to each other. They decided to get some clutch purses for the bridesmaids. A total of 14 of them. One of her bridesmaid doesn’t like too feminine stuff, so I replace the clutch purse with a sling bag, made with the same colors and materials.

 

The bride’s clutch is slightly larger than the other clutches and the center of the flower bloom is replaced with a diamond shaped jewel.

As for the sling bag, the flower is removable so that the bag can be more versatile. The flower bloom can be used as a hair clip or brooch accessory.

Charcoal Grey and Pink Theme Clutch Purse

The wedding season is here once again. So much love all around.  And here’s one with a pink and charcoal grey theme.  Her bridesmaids will be wearing a charcoal grey colored dresses.  Thus, a pink clutch with a mixed media grey flower to match. And for the bride herself, the reverse of charcoal grey exterior with pink lining and a pink flower sewn down with a silver colored pearl. The colors are so sweet…*melts**  Check out the pictures =)

1st Local Customer via Etsy

I often get custom orders for my bags and there was a particular buyer who was really sweet and communicated very well with what she wanted in her custom bag. She was also very meticulous in looking through items I marked as favorites on the website and supplied me with picture reference.

It was during the final stage of purchase and payment did I realize that she’s buying from Singapore. I was totally psyched as I never thought a local buyer would stumble across my site. Mostly they buy direct from my flea market stalls. There was some hiccups on my part for the payment procedure as it was something new, but she was very patient on that.

Was definitely a good experience and just felt nice that locals do support handmade after all. Anyway, here’s some pictures of the bag I made for her.

She left a feedback which went: “very good quality and workmanship! a relatively small bag (than what i usually carry) but it’s well worth the money. prompt delivery and neatly packed too. thanks for the personal note as well! i hope to purchase from you again! “

Ultraman’s Cape

ULTRAMAN WITH HIS NEW CAPE!!

After a number of failed attempts, finally came up with something presentable. Lots of fabric tear during work in progress, followed by wrong sizing, wrong measurement. Its really quite a small cape to sew, plus the  fabric’s rather delicate.

Its suppose to have a proper men’s shirt collar. But I decided to omit it.

I dismantled an old piece of jewelery for the front closure of the cape.  The gold chain loop size is a little too huge, but its the closest to the scale size that I could get my hands on.

The Carl Sling Replica
