This bag is made with a candy floss pink colored fabric with thin brown stripes and appliqué of a chocolate colored corduroy heart.

It fits all the necessities on your day out. Wallet, purse, keys, mobile phone, ipod, water bottle, umbrella, letters, notebook, lip gloss, facial tissue…etc.

Fastens easily with a magnetic snap closure.

For my India travelmates

I thought would be a nice souvenir to make some zipper pouches for the 3 guys who were in India with me. Cos we didn’t really get anything back for ourselves. Not sure if they’ll like it or not, very hard to buy things for guys, even harder to make things for them.

But anyway, I did ask them to choose which fabric, color of inner lining and zipper color they wanted before working on it.  Here’s how it looks like after cutting all the fabrics to size and laying them out.

Not easy cutting up these banana fiber fabrics. Their crease lines are very stubborn and I really took the time to iron them out. On top of that, the fabric’s length and breath are not very straight or symmetrical. Typically, when buying a fabric that’s cut from the bolt. The fabric’s length should be uniform [ eg.60cm] throughout the entire bolt and then I’ll tell the merchant how many meters of it I would like to have.  But apparently for this, the length gradually goes from 60-64cm (-_- “‘ )

Anyway, its completed!! And I finally took a  picture of it too.

Ohya, that silver&pink one that’s 3rd from the left is for myself. Added an extra diamond looking thing[ its plastic] to the zipper. I picked it up from the floor at my friend’s wedding. When she,the bride, threw her bouquet of flowers to the group of single ladies. The girl who caught it was so happy she jumped and jumped for joy. And those diamond looking thingys that was part of the bouquet’s decoration fell off.  I found it when I was helping to pack up after the event. And thought it would come in handy one day =)

First bag in 2010!!

My first bag order of the Year 2010 was from Sandara.  Quick and swiftly decided that she wanted Green Stripes Small Bag from my earlier post.  Since I have ready fabric and pattern for it, I was able to complete it rather effortlessly. I did however made a slight change to the strap. I’ve picked up on how to do adjustable straps and was able to incorporate it in here.

I can tell she really likes it.
I see her carrying it to work quite often =p

Banana Fiber Fabric – Zipper Pouch

On my recent backpacking trip to India, I got to know about banana fibers being used to make fabrics. A totally eco-friendly way to make high quality textiles. It is bio- degradable and has no negative effect on environment.

The colors used on the textiles are however chemically processed instead of using vegetable coloring. This is because of the longer staying power and vibrancy of the chemical colors.

Gold and silver colors on the fabric are extra shiny and gives the fabric a discreet shimmer.

I’ve finally found the time to start work on them and I’ve created 2  zipper pouches for a start. And during its construction, careful attention was given to use bright and vibrant colors to match. So as to stay true the frenzy of colors I’ve experienced in India.

Flowers In Full Bloom Handbag

Its spring and  Chinese New Year is just around the corner. I’ve constructed this handy bag specially for the occasion. It fits about 6 large mandarin oranges or if its the smaller ones, probably 8  or more of them.  And there’s a little pocket compartment that you can slot the ang pows in =p

And yet it is versatile enough to use after the festivities as it is also a perfect-sized handbag that fits all the necessities on your day out. Wallet, purse, keys, mobile phone, ipod, water bottle, umbrella, letters, notebook, lip gloss, facial tissue…etc.

Fastens easily with a magnetic snap closure. The exterior is a clean and simple black.  Which contrasts with the inner lining’s white with floral in full bloom print.  I know that black is not a conventional color for Chinese New Year. Just let me know if you’re interested in another color. Or you’d like a bright colored applique added outside.  I’ll be glad to accommodate.

There’s a pocket compartments on the inside which I added a little silver tab on top of it. Making it just a tad easier to locate and pull it open [amidst the burst of floral bloom happening in there].

Hoot The Owl Ribbon Brooch

A red bow embellished with antiqued ornaments, beads and pearl.

This is a little something that I was inspired to create when my mother asked for a red ribbon to brighten up the look of her bag. I used a remnant ribbon from my Christmas present and sewed on some little ornaments that I have in my little box of mysterious things. And came up with this really elegant and fashionable piece =)

There’s a pin sewed on at the back, making it really easy to fasten onto your fashion tops, bags or pouches for an instant WOW factor.

3 flower brooch

I made these brooches as a little something for 3 of my friends whom I’ve know since I was about 7yrs old. And guess what, on the day that I met them for a xmas gathering, the tops they were wearing were the same color as the brooch I made. Can strike lottery already =D

3 bridesmaids and a bride

A special order by a bride to be.
She specified a silver colored clutch with the purple plum flower that she saw on a post, for her bridesmaids. And wanted one with a white flower for herself.

In order to make the bride’s clutch a little more unique, I replaced the pearl  with a diamond-shaped crystal, adding a little bit of sparkle to it. She loved it =)
